DC-LEARN serves six professional audiences who interact with Irish data centres: Operations managers responsible for day-to-day facility management and CRU reporting; Fund and asset managers with DC assets in their portfolio; MEP engineers working on retrofit or new-build projects; ESG and sustainability leads managing EU Taxonomy, EED, and CRU obligations; QS and cost managers preparing capital budgets or reviewing retrofit proposals; and CTOs and colocation operators selling capacity under SLA. Every module is written to speak to all six — the same engineering, six different perspectives on why it matters.
Uptime and CNet are international programmes. DC-LEARN is built specifically for the Irish retrofit market — CRU/2025236 obligations, SEAI emission factors, ESB Networks connection tiers, EPA IE Licence thresholds, and Irish carbon tax trajectories (currently €63.50/tCO₂, rising to €71 from 14 Oct 2026 and €100 by 2030). You will not find a module on CRU annual energy reporting or the 80% renewable obligation in a generic international DC course. One boundary stated plainly, because it is a deliberate difference rather than a gap: CDCDP goes deep on structured cabling, containment and bonding, and DC-LEARN does not cover that ground — a DC-LEARN certificate is not equivalent to CDCDP and is not offered as one. The sixteen modules are built for the people who commission, fund, operate and report on data centres rather than the people who cable them. DC-LEARN also costs a fraction of Uptime ATD (US$4,985 for five days) or CNet CDCDP (five days, price on application), with Irish-specific content and lifetime access.
Yes. Each module awards a verifiable certificate on completion. Engagement certificates are awarded for completing all content (2 learning hours per module, no assessment). Completion certificates require an assessment score of 80% or above (3 learning hours per module). Achievement certificates require 90% or above (3 learning hours per module — the distinction is recorded on the certificate). Full series: up to 32 hrs Engagement / 48 hrs Completion or Achievement. Each certificate carries a unique certificate ID and can be checked against the LBE register at learn.legacybe.ie/verify. Learning hours and assessment scores are stated on every certificate for self-directed CPD recording.
No. Each module opens with Grammar — plain English definitions before any numbers or standards. The Trivium structure (Grammar → Logic → Rhetoric) is designed so that a fund manager can work through Grammar and get full value, while an MEP engineer can push through to Rhetoric. You follow the path that matches your role. The Feynman Clarify button at every level will re-explain any concept three ways until it lands.
